The decarbonisation of the marine sector, which lies at the heart of Energy Observer’s commitment, was the focus of the debate. Victorien Erussard, founding captain of Energy Observer and President of the Energy Observer Foundation was invited to take the floor to discuss "The digital and ecological revolution of the marine industry".
He used this platform to share his experience of having sailed over 40,000 nautical miles aboard the laboratory vessel and his vision of future energy mixes. Technological breakthroughs, funding and the need for the industry to come together as one fuelled workshop debates.
The event was notably organised by the Maritime cluster, metropolitan Nice Côte d’Azur, the southern region, the Côte d’Azur CCI, the Institut Français de la Mer (French Institute of the Sea), the Ministry for the Sea and the Bureau Veritas, IFREMER, Ouest France, Le Marin, Nice Matin, CMA CGM, the CNES and Naval Group.
Our travelling exhibition dedicated to ecological transition, renewable energies and hydrogen was open to both participants and visitors on 14 and 15 September, Quai du Commerce in Nice.
